What is Dual-Mating Strategy?
The Dual-Mating Strategy is a scientific theory trying to explain why some women cheat.
When a woman is choosing a potential partner, they are primarily looking for these things:
- Do they have good genes ( physically masculine and attractive men, good leader, strong personality)
- Are they good provider? ( stable income, can support the family financially )
The problem occurs because it is rare to find a man with all those things.
What happens when women cheat is they look for two partners who would bring all those things to their life in this configuration:
- Primary Partner - less masculine/attractive men, but has stable income and could provide for the family. This is often the "nice guy" father figure who is submissive to wife
- Affair Partner - highly masculine, attractive man, which have a strong personality and good leadership skills.
Why is this a problem?
The fact that we have to explain why the above configuration is wrong is the problem. A few obvious reasons why this is a problem are:
- It is unfair for the Primary partner to financially support someone else's child.
- It is emotionally devastating for both the Primary Partner and the child to find out that they are not biologically related.
- 69 percent of marriages break up as a result of an affair being discovered
- A crime of passion might be potentially committed upon the discovery of the affair.
